Key Responsibilities: Hiring For Hospital Sleep Technologist

1. – Perform overnight polysomnographic tests on pediatric patients to diagnose sleep disorders.
2. – Operate, prepare, and calibrate sleep diagnostic equipment for each sleep study, ensuring accurate monitoring of EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory events, and oxygen levels.
3. – Conduct multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT) and various titration studies (CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator support).
4. – Provide comprehensive patient education, explaining procedures and addressing concerns of patients and their families.
5. – Adhere to AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) scoring guidelines when interpreting sleep stages and physiological data.
6. – Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and nurses, to evaluate sleep study results and create tailored treatment plans.
7. – Ensure the sleep lab maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for pediatric patients.
8. – Troubleshoot equipment and sensor issues during tests to ensure consistent data quality.

Qualifications:

1. – Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy with a strong academic record.
2. – Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification.
3. – Solid knowledge of pediatric sleep disorders and proficiency in sleep scoring methodologies.
4. – Technical expertise in using polysomnographic equipment and software.
5. – Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
6. – Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on pediatric care.
